A dedicated, region-focused casting directory for independent productions working in and from the West Midlands.
The Untamed Actor Directory connects West Midlands-based performers with independent filmmakers, theatre-makers, producers and casting teams, with a focus on professional, emerging and regionally rooted work.
Built specifically for the independent and professional creative sector, the Directory offers an alternative to national casting platforms by centring regional talent, direct connection and inclusive access.
The platform has been developed to support independent creative teams working in and around the region who want to discover high-quality local talent quickly, affordably and without the barriers often associated with large national platforms.
While industry-wide directories play an important role for major productions, there has long been a gap for a region-focused, trusted space that centres West Midlands performers and the independent sector that works with them.
The Directory exists to fill that gap: providing a single, professional hub where regional talent can be found easily, where emerging and established creatives can connect directly with performers, and where the local industry can grow in a way that is visible, inclusive and sustainable.
Profiles can be browsed using a wide range of filters – including playing age, gender, location, skills, experience and availability – or searched by keyword to find specific attributes, roles or specialisms.
Every actor has a detailed profile showcasing headshots, credits and experience. Where represented, contact can be made directly with an actor’s agent. Many performers also choose to be contacted personally, allowing creative teams to reach them securely via the contact form on their profile.
The Directory:
- Creates a central, professional hub for West Midlands-based talent

Creative teams using the Directory to cast their projects are expected to approach performers respectfully and in line with the preferences stated on individual profiles, including the type and level of work they are open to (such as paid, unpaid, student or passion projects). At present, the Directory focuses exclusively on the West Midlands, with the intention of building a strong, well-supported regional community.
The Directory is a facilitating platform only. Untamed does not act as an agent, casting director, employer or representative for any user. The Directory is a talent discovery platform and does not publish casting calls or job listings.
Age Requirement
The Directory is open to performers aged 18 and over only.
Membership
Membership costs £10 per year and helps cover the administration and running of the directory. Any profits are reinvested into the regional creative community through events, opportunities and artist development initiatives. By joining, performers gain a professional profile within a trusted, region-focused platform that is actively promoted to industry professionals seeking talent in the West Midlands.
Eligibility & Regional Requirement
By registering and purchasing a membership, users confirm that the information they provide – including their location or regional base – is accurate and truthful.
The Directory is intended for working and emerging professional actors. Applicants must demonstrate either training or at least one acting credit. This helps maintain the quality and usefulness of the directory for casting teams.
If we become aware that a user does not live in, or have a genuine working base within, the West Midlands, we reserve the right to remove or suspend their profile and/or terminate their membership without obligation to issue a refund. Please see our full Terms & Conditions for further details.
